Seven-Year-Old Girl Dies from Head Wound in San Miguel de Tucumán

Seven-year-old Zoe Robledo, who was shot in the head on Thursday while playing in the yard of her home in the San Cayetano neighborhood of San Miguel de Tucumán, died last night from the serious bullet wound. Her mother, Claudia, confirmed the news to the press: “My daughter has just died, the hospital director confirmed it to me.” The Prosecutor's Office reconstructed the events: last Thursday at 4:00 PM, while the girl was playing in front of her home on Ricardo Rojas Street, the two accused individuals arrived on the sidewalk along with two accomplices, including one nicknamed “Chueco.” At that moment, “Chueco” drew a firearm and began firing shots, while the other accomplices, “acting jointly and in coordination, insulted and incited the shooter.” One of the shots hit the girl in the head, causing an entry and exit wound. After hours of anguish, Zoe was urgently transferred to the Children's Hospital, where she remained hospitalized until her death. In response, neighbors and friends of the family set fire to the house of the alleged killers. The victim's mother demanded: “Let justice be done and let the killers pay.” She referred to the two detained suspects—a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old—and requested that “the two who are in prison not be given four months of preventive detention.” Judicial sources indicated that with Zoe's death now confirmed, the charges against the accused will likely be reformulated. The police quickly apprehended two of the suspects: a 19-year-old known as “Menor” and a 16-year-old nicknamed “Ratón,” who were accompanying “Chueco” and another accomplice who remain at large. Sources suggested the attack may be linked to drug issues, as the victim's mother's ex-partner (deceased) and current partner have both been imprisoned. They also noted that this area of San Cayetano has a history of family conflicts and is considered a dangerous neighborhood.
